Shelbunre, Nova Scotia

I started paddling kayaks in 1992 and initially paddled only white water, in 2004 I started paddling sea kayaks and decided teaching and guiding would be a good way of staying out of trouble when I retired.  I now hold Paddle Canada Level 3 Skills, Level 1 Sea Kayak Instructor and Rolling Instructor,  British Canoe Union Sea Kayak 4* Leader Award and Coastal Navigation Certificate, and Canadian Red Cross Wilderness First Aid. I have come to prefer sea kayaking to white water, because of the variety of facets: gentle touring in flat calm; multi-day trips; coping with big waves on tidal races; and surfing
