Calvin D’Entremont is a proud Acadian and lifelong resident of Lower West Pubnico, Nova Scotia, where his life and work have been deeply tied to the ocean. A seasoned lobster fisherman, Calvin knows these waters like the back of his hand, bringing both experience and passion to everything he does.

Beyond the fishing industry, Calvin has dedicated years of service as a municipal councillor for the Municipality of Argyle, advocating for his community and fostering strong local connections. Often referred to as the unofficial mayor of Lower West Pubnico, he is a natural leader who brings people together with his knowledge, humor, and unwavering commitment to his home.

As the Director of Communities for the Bay of Fundy Sea Kayak Symposium, Calvin plays a key role in ensuring the event is deeply rooted in the local culture, traditions, and people. His warm hospitality and deep ties to the region make him an invaluable part of the symposium experience, helping paddlers feel welcomed and connected to this special place.

When he’s not out on the water or working within his community, Calvin can be found sharing stories, good company, and a deep appreciation for Acadian culture and the Bay of Fundy’s powerful tides and rich history
